Project Description

Elderflower Legal will be at Social Enterprise UK’s annual conference ‘Fit for the Future’ on health & social care on 3 March 2016 at BVSC, Birmingham. The health and social care landscape is facing its greatest financial challenge of recent decades. Despite ring-fenced budgets and the Government’s commitment to ‘frontloaded’ funding, the next decade will be the toughest yet, with funding pressures on public health and social care having a marked impact.

Health and care services are increasingly being called on to do more with less – and many argue this isn’t possible without transformational change to the system. This event will explore what role social enterprises and charities can play in sustaining a quality health and care service in such financially testing times.

Confirmed speakers include:

John Appleby, Chief Economist, The King’s Fund
Samantha Jones, Director, New Care Models Programme, NHS England
Norman Lamb MP
Rt Hon Jacqui Smith, Chair of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust
Scott Darraugh, CEO, Social AdVentures
